Hello, my name is Art Estopinan, Jr. I am 6 years old and I suffer from TK2 Mitochondrial DNA Depletion Syndrome, which is a fatal disease and there are NO treatments or medications. However there is HOPE with experimental medications from Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. Watch the CNN Special video report by Isabel Morales, 'Determinacion de una familia: le busca de una cura'.
I cannot speak or move, but I am a FIGHTER. Despite the fact that I had been fighting for my life for 30 months in 3 different hospitals, mainly in pediatric intensive care units in each hospital. Now I am able to move my fingers my hands and my feet and I am getting stronger. Since October 17th, 2013 I have been with my parents at home, but I am still very weak and need the experimental medicine and research so that I could get stronger.
